Besides the fact that she's not as strong as most Principals, I think with much practice and improvement she deserves to be promoted to at least a Coryphee!
But... Someone has asked the owner of that video why she isn't promoted yet and here's his/her reply:
Well I hope she can be the next Tan Yuan Yuan, Chinese pride and glory! :D

I'm not the AD(Artistic Director) of ABT(American Ballet Theatre) so I wouldn't know. ABT is not as big as Bolshoi, Mariinsky, POB(Paris Opera Ballet) or RB(Royal Ballet) that have over 200 performances a year 3 times more than ABT and can dance lots of dancers. Also they don't have the European hierarchy system: coryphée, sujet, grand sujet etc, so you're either a soloist or in corps regardless if you just joined or have been there for 5 years doing demi-soloist parts. On average it takes 5-7 yrs. to get promoted there and even longer to become a principal, if ever.
Well I hope she can be the next Tan Yuan Yuan, Chinese pride and glory! :D
